Children at Howe Dell eco-school are giving top marks to the new primary school they helped create.
The area’s first purpose-built green school is constructed using recycled materials and includes a host of renewable energy technologies, including a pioneering system which captures solar energy in the summer to heat the school in winter. It also has a computer system which monitors the schools energy use.
Pupils designed the new uniforms, chose sustainable furniture and have been learning about the school’s state-of-the-art features, such as the school toilets which use recycled rainwater.
