FAQ
Why do we need to recycle? The world has a population of approximately 8 billion people all of whom through out rubbish daily. At the moment in England, our rubbish is collected, crushed into the smallest shape possible and dropped into land fill sites. However things like plastic, metal and glass don’t break down on their own (unlike food) and so simply sit in the ground taking up space and harming our environment. By recycling, we reduce the amount of rubbish being put into the ground and also help keep our planet healthy by keeping non-biodegradable substances out of the ground. Where’s the nearest recycling site to my house? Go on to our borough links page and find your borough. Each of these sites will be able to help you find the nearest recycling site to your home. Is there a recycling event taking place near me? Either click on your borough on the Borough Links page to find out or see if we’re mentioned anything in our posts and recent entries. How can I help? All of the London councils provide their own recycling scheme to their residents, you can find out more by clicking on your borough on the Borough Links page and following their instructions.
